Hopefully next week there won’t be snow to keep us apart and it will instead serve as an inspiration for our art! We are looking forward to a good turnout at Hillman House next Sunday. I hope to see you there. (And we will have our annual call to the gang at the Clayathon in SJ to see how they are faring with 5 days of round the clock claying!)
Thanks to Terri for introducing me to The Snowflake Man: Mr. Wilson A. Bentley. He developed a process for photographing snowflakes almost 100 years ago. That’s going to help inspire some of the snowflake canes we make. Click on his snowflake collage to see some of his photographs in more detail.
Here’s some more about him from www.snowflakebentley.com:

The Snowflake Man
“Under the microscope, I found that snowflakes were miracles of beauty; and it seemed a shame that this beauty should not be seen and appreciated by others. Every crystal was a masterpiece of design and no one design was ever repeated., When a snowflake melted, that design was forever lost. Just that much beauty was gone, without leaving any record behind.”
