Julie Picarello, Chicken and More!

Julie Picarello was our guest artist for April. She taught a Master class on how to make her distinctive mokume gane on Saturday. At the Sunday Meeting, Julie demonstrated metal working, including riveting, wire working, working with tubing, clasp making, metal forming (including cutting and dapping) and how to incorporate these elements into polymer clay jewelry. All of this instruction was included with the price of membership and members will get handouts of notes taken during the demonstrations.

We had a wonderful show and tell; the members’ work is getting better all the time. Most of my pictures were too blurry to post on our Flickr site, although I did post a few.

Here is one of Eileen and her charming Chicken Little. Her head (the chicken’s, not Eileen’s) comes off and a little tag inside reads, “The Sky is Falling.” elaine-and-chicken-little
