If you are stuck for ideas, put some color in your life or at least on your tools. And while you’re at it, check out the latest edition of Art Jewelry magazine to see some of Celie Fago’s decorated polymer clay tools. And there are more pictures on her site. And then check out Barbara Briggs’ blog and website. She is an artist who marries metal with polymer clay. Have fun!

Although I tend to wear black almost all the time, I really do love to play with color! There is something almost zen-like in blending different colors of polymer clay. Methodically turning the handle as I feed sheets of clay through my Dream Machine, adding bits of color as I go along, and watching the shades develop is almost mesmerizing. I swear my blood pressure is at an all-time low when I perform this labor of love. I’ve covered these needle file handles in a swirling palette of red, rust, gold, purple, and moss – the colors are totally luscious!
