Clayathon 2015 – Claying around the clock at the New Jersey Shore 2/13-2/18 – Newcomers THIS IS FOR YOU!

Have you gone to the Clayathon in the past?  It is time to plan on coming again when we Clay around the Clock this February (President’s Day Weekend) in the amazing digs at Stockton Seaview Resort.

If you haven’t  attended a Clayathon, NOW is the time to start!  I remember the first retreat I attended – the fantastic one hosted by the Connecticut Guild.  I packed all my clay and tools (and pearlex and glitter!) into a rolling toolbox I bought for the occasion and rolled in to set up the large workspace that would be all mine for the next few days.  I looked around and there, in the room, were 50 other folks with THE SAME STUFF!  I had no idea I was not just alone at my kitchen counter covering pens in colorful clay – why I was part of a community.  I know for many of us we have made some of our best friends around the clay table at events like these.  The relaxed setting of the retreat respects your personal biorhythms and sparks your imagination.  You can’t believe how much you can learn in these settings.  The retreat is my favorite form of Community Claying and the Clayathon has the most elegant, comfortable and cost effective venue of all the Retreats I have ever attended.

To get you all in the spirit, we will take this week on the blog to look at some remembrances of Clayathons past and how much our members enjoy Clay retreats.  In the meantime, here is the registration information so you can seize the day and get your registration and room reservations in!

PAPCG Head Cheerleader

Enthusiasm for our beautifully renovated, spacious Seaview Hotel Ballroom workspace, the news about our Guest Artist from Turkey, and the rave reviews about last year’s Clayathon, means registration will be in high demand. Space is limited, so I suggest you make your hotel and retreat registrations right away.

Alev creates fabulous wall murals, mobiles and other installation work and one-woman shows throughout Europe. We’re thrilled that she will be joining us to share some of her ideas and techniques about ways to get polymer “Off our Chests and Up Onto the Walls”.

Join Alev and other polymer artists who will be creating, sharing, learning and enjoying friendships in the comfort of the elegant old [but newly renovated] Seaview Hotel and Resort in Galloway, NJ.
Want a hotel room closer to the lobby or one of the 2 bed rooms? Early registration means you can get first choice of hotel rooms! Please use this link to book your reservation directly with the Stockton Seaview Hotel. That helps Clayathon fulfill our hotel room commitment, in exchange for which we receive discounted costs for the four huge ballrooms we have for our worktables, the enormous screen and separate space for demos, convenient oven areas, complimentary food and staff services for the Friday night Welcome Party and so much more.

Even though the entire Ballroom wing in which we hold our workshops has been entirely renovated, with upgraded lighting, electrical service and beautiful decor, the Seaview has agreed to maintain our prior $89 per night room rate. [Most rooms can be shared by two people.] Check out the Seaview’s web site for information about the hotel’s extensive facilities, including web access, large indoor pool, art gallery, bars and restaurants.
How Can You Attend?

I’m happy to be able to report that we also have kept our Retreat Workshop fee the same for a third year. Your $95 Clayathon Registration fee covers the entire six days or any part thereof, three demos by Guest Artist Alev Gozonar, lots of demos by our very talented participants, the Friday Night Welcome Party, and so much more.

To register for the Retreat, please email: for instructions on how to pay via PayPal or check.  We will send you instructions right away!  The instructions are also on our Clayathon Facebook Page.

Thanks and I can’t wait to see, clay and play with all of you in less than four months!
